Redblue, the Charlotte, NC-based HVAC provider you’ve known and loved since 1993, is proud to announce an expansion. Seeing a synergy with HVAC improvements and lighting upgrades, Redblue recently joined the Net Zero USA network to offer energy efficient lighting upgrades in the metro-Charlotte area.
“Proper heating and cooling is critical to your business and our job is to not only keep HVAC systems running, but to reduce energy and repair costs,” said Tim Donoghue, VP of Redblue Commercial Lighting.
“In a commercial setting, lighting can represent as much as 40% of total energy costs for a business. With energy efficient LED and T5 lighting upgrades, you can reduce lighting costs by as much as 79%, while providing better, more-natural light. And with less wattage being pushed out of each fixture, thanks to the energy efficient lighting, there is less heat which means less strain on HVAC units,” Donoghue added.
Best of all, these savings can be achieved using the existing light fixture, saving a substantial amount of money on fixture cost replacement. As the head of Net Zero USA of Charlotte, North Carolina, Tim and his team can show your Charlotte-based business how quick and easy it is to save with commercial LED and T5 lighting for T12/T8 fluorescent light fixture conversions.

The LED lighting upgrade involved retrofitting or replacing almost 1,000 light fixtures throughout the facility. As an entire project, energy usage from lighting was reduce 62.9%, saving more than $ 155,000 dollars on lighting over 5 years. Thanks to equipment savings and reductions in HVAC costs, the customer will realize over $ 240,000 dollars worth of cumulative 5 year savings. Best of all, the LED lighting upgrade includes a 10-year warranty and will pay for itself in under 16 months!
One of the biggest savings is being seen in a staging area where a 71.5% energy reduction was achieved. A total of 97 fixtures burning two T12 95-watt bulbs each were converted to LED using Redblue’s 60-watt LED retrofit kits. Light levels were doubled from 9-12 foot candles before to 22-25 foot candles afterwards thanks to LED.
